I am a pastry chef doing consulting work with a Turkish company. I am a complete beginner in Turkish and need to prepare for an upcoming two-week project-based visit to Turkey. I am interested in learning fundamental vocubulary necessary when meeting people as wel as baking-specif ic vocabulary including ingredient names and numbers. I am willing to spend 5 hours/week between now and mid-May on learning as much as possible.

I want to continue my Japanese language lessons because I am half Japanese. I used to take lessons 5 years ago but stopped because I got married and had 2 children. They are 1 & 2 years old and I would like for them to learn to speak Japanese eventually.
I'm not sure yet if I want to do in person or video conferencing. I think that I can dedicate 1 to 2 hours per week. In my former language class I had to study at least 1 hour per day. With two very small children I'm hoping that I can still dedicate the time.
The qualities that I am looking for in a teacher is experience and patience. Also, someone that will making learning a very difficult language somewhat fun and interesting.

I currently have no knowledge of Mandarin; however, I am motivated to learn for the following reasons:
1.) My daughter is currently learning Mandarin. She was born in the States; however, her mother's side of the family is from Taiwan and speaks primarily Madarin. I would like to help her learn and to learn as well.
2.) I would like to eventually use the Mandarin language in business. I am currently in the accounting/fi nance field and believe that Mandarin will become more and more important within the next 5-10 years.
I would prefer to meet either 2 or 3 times per week depending on the cost and location availability.
