This upcoming 2010-11 school year, I am taking my first out of three years of foreign language. I needed to know if I take an off-campus 2nd language course in Hindi for three years, if it would count for the 3 credits I need.
I am a beginner. My family speaks Gujarati around the house.
The Texas Foriegn Language Dept. requires you to fully speak and write a second language other than english. You need 3 full years (equaling 3 credits- 1 per year) to graduate. Im going to be freshman soon.
3 years. 50 mins to an 1hr M-F during school days. Around 1:45 PM. CFISD School District. See cfisd.net for dating.
I want a teacher that will work with my problems and will help me learn at my speed. The class can be any where in size from 1-30

I just want to learn Hindi because many of my friends are Indian at university. I have studied Urdu now for about 1.5 years although I only have a basic level of understanding . I now want to focus on Hindi because there are more resources available for Hindi and I believe that I can always master Urdu at another time. I would like to study with a tutor once a week, I also have a friend that helps me at school (so outside help once a week is very reasonable to learn effectively). I would like to learn the script fast, as I find it to be confusing when letters are combined. I don't want the written language to become a barrier, but I want to continue at a regular pace, learning Hindi grammar and vocabulary as I master the script. I also have always wanted to visit India, one of my friends may go with me next summer after graduation (Im a senior finishing my BS in biochemistry & applied mathematics).

I want to learn how to speak, understand, and write Hindi language in India in the spring of 2011. I speak Nepali language quite well, and can also read and write Devanagari, so I am hoping that learning Hindi will come a bit easier to me. I would enjoy a class setting, or individual learning, and I am looking for affordable classes as well (I am on a budjet). I am hoping to take classes in Udaipur, particuarly, or elsewhere in Rajasthan. Thank you!
