I am a beginner. I studied in Kenya in 2002 and had a one month intensive course, but most of that is lost now. I want to learn Swahili for fun and to keep in touch with my host family and friends back in Kenya. I also am thinking of traveling back there. I would like to meet once a week. I am interested in learning the Arabic Language. I am currently in Iraq learning what I can and will be back in MN around April of 2007. I hope to learn the Modern Standard Arabic and then work on some dialects. I would consider myself at the beginner level right now. I want to learn the language because I find it interesting and I want to have more career options.
I will only be a part time student and am very flexible on meeting times as long as the instructor is patient with my schedule as well.
I am looking for a patient instructor who can teach me Modern Standard Arabic and about the cultures and religions of the Middle East.
