I'm learning Russian to speak with my girlfriend's family. She's from Kazakhstan.
I'd like to be reasonably proficient for simple everyday conversation -- to understand and converse with people and of course, be able to read.
I am a total beginner and only know like 5-6 words.
I can come for classes twice a week. I leave for Kazakhstan in 6 weeks.
I'd like a teacher who is fun, patient and understanding . If you're the shouting type, forget it. We'll end up killing each other. :-) Someone who will show me the way and make it fun to learn.
I also want a teacher who will make me speak Russian and not use too much English during class.

I am looking to learn Russian. I have been very interested in the language for a while now and decided it was time to try and learn it. I do not know any right now so i am a beginner but i want to learn as much as i can. I would like to take one class a week because that is really all i have time for. I am looking for a native speaker that is very proficient in teaching and is willing to help me along the way.
