I am travelling to Fiji later this year with my family, to show them the Fiji I used to know. My family lived in Fiji for five generations. I have lived outside Fiji for 48 years, during which time I have not heard nor spoken the Fijian language. I wish to re-acquaint myself with Fijian and be able to converse fluently. So Item 3 above - 'conversation ' is my interest. Telephone and e-mail would be the best media to implement the study since I need to hear the pronunciation of the language I have forgotten.

I would like to learn Farsi as I have recently travelled to Iran and am fascinated by the culture and history. I have wanted to learn for some time but have never got around to it! I will be a beginner, though I have learnt arabic for 3 years, so can understand some words, and have made myself familiar with the Persian alphabet. I would like to learn for 1-2 hours per week (depending on the cost) and hope to be able to have basic conversations and learn important aspects of the grammar. I don't mind if the lessons are difficult and intense, I study better under pressure!

I am learning Portuguese with the aim of travelling to and studying in Brazil in 2013. I have a basic-interme diate level of Portuguese, having travelled to Portugal and studied the Level 2 course at Institute of Modern Languages, UQ, Brisbane, Australia. I would be looking to have private lessons for 1-2 hours per week. I would hope the teacher has qualification s in language teaching and experience in teaching vocabulary, grammar in reading writing and listening skills. Looking forward to learning with you soon :)
