I would like to learn French so that I can advance within the Federal Government. I currently hold a position within the government but would like to better myself. My ultimate goal would be to get my levels and be able to apply for jobs in Ottawa and Gatineau.
I did take French immersion all throughout grade school but have not used it since then. My grammar is very poor. I can understand someone talking to me in French or reading in French but when it’s my turn to keep the conversation going I'm, quite often, at a loss for words. I've lost a lot of the vocabulary. I would say I'm probably between beginner and intermediate.
I would very much like to get my levels as soon as possible so I'm will to put in the time required to do so. I'm currently very busy with work and sports but starting October my nights and weekends will be free.
I'm a hands on learner and would like someone who can teach me in person. I seem to learn best with examples as well as with someone who is enthusiastic and excited about teaching the subject.

I live in Montreal but my native language is chinese and my second language is english. I am between a intermediate and beginners level of french.I work in the service industry which requires me to be at least an intermediate level of conversation. I would like to dedicate at least 2-3 hours a week into learning better grammar and conversationa l skills. I need a teacher that is willing to immerse me into french conversation to force me into speaking and will correct me while I am speaking. If I know that a teacher is able to speak english I would not try my best.
