WHY: I would like to learn Amharic and Dutch as a tool to change careers. I am interested in photojournali sm and import/export . I feel that learning these languages,con versationally at least, would further those goals.
PRO FICIENCY LEVEL: Beginner in Amharic. Have had some exposure to Dutch (Nederlands) as I lived in Amsterdam for two years.
ARE AS OF IMPROVEMENT: ALL
TIME OF DEDICATION: How ever long it takes to be relatively fluent.

My wife is Ethiopian but our son and daughter, joshua and Emily, aged 8 and 6 respctively only speak English and we would like them to learn Amharic. Obviously my wife, Mestawat does speak fluent Amharic but the children only speak English at home.
I do speak some Amharic, but only a little. I may like to learn too!
