Description |
I am a businessman living in Seoul, and I am looking for an opportunity to do business in Thailand. I've visited Thailand a couple of time, and I can't wait for the opportunity to go there again! I would love to perhaps learn the alphabet and begin to develop some local (in Seoul) business contacts that might enable me to be successful in Thailand.
If any Thai teachers are interested in meeting occasionally to help me learn the Thai language, or you can introduce me to other Thai people (exchange students or businessmen) living in Korea, I'd like to meet you! I'm sure we'll all have fun.

Description |
Sawasdee khrap,
Please allow me to provide you with a brief background.
I lived in (and fell in love with) Thailand, Udon Thani, for two years when I was 18 years old and in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. I finally returned to Thailand to help with volunteer needs in February after the Tsunami and I have been returning regularly for the past three years having just returned from a three month stay in Bangkok.
Today I have many friends now from Phuket to Issan, Kalisin to Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Many have helped me learn basic conversationa l Thai but my proficiency level is very fundamental. I continue to do some study on my own to better understand the tonal structure of Thai.
Soon I hope to accept an offer of employment in Thailand and plan to live and retire there so I need over all improvement in my language skills ultimately learning to read and write becoming as fluent in the language as possible.
I be grateful for any help you can offer or suggestions, I'd appreciate the opportunity to discuss this further.

I have been going to thailand for 10 years now and i can on speak alittle bit (nit noy) he he so i am looking for a thai teacher (lady preferably) but the thing is even though i am really serious i am in full time work so i can only learn in the evenings and days off..... I dont mind traveling to a destination to learn (school or home) as long as its not too far away... Hope there is a teacher out there for me. I am also looking for a nice teacher who can have time for me while i am learning and a laugh at the same time (not to strict :P)but i would really love to walk out of the airport in bangkok and be one of the thai people for once speaking there lovly language.....

Description |
Sa-bai-dee deu. I have a good friend from the UK who has been living in Lao PDR for 12 years now and every year I visit I come away wishing I could speak more of the language than just 'hello' or 'thank you'. His Lao friends and family have been so welcoming and have spoken in English with me wherever possible. I would like to repay the favour by learning as much Lao as possible before I return there at the end of 2007. If I cannot find a Lao teacher, then I would like to learn Thai since most Lao people I have met can understand and speak Thai very well. I would like to learn everyday useful phrases and conversation. I am prepared to dedicate 2 sessions a week to learning. I would like the lessons to be fun and informal.
