Hello,
I am looking for a Mandarin Language teacher.
I would like to travel in China and speak to a respectable level.
I have no proficiency level ie beginner.
I am interested in conversation skills with a view to learning grammer later on.
I can dedicate 2-3 hrs per week in person.
The qualities i would like in my teacher: a friendly person with patience, provides guidance-has an indepth knowledge of modeern Chinese History and sets homework to assess.

I am Australian but live a lot of the time in Northern Italy with friends in Croatia (Istria). I would like to be able to comunicate when there. I have tried to learn some vocabulary and very basic grammar but would be regarded as a beginner. I would like one lesson a week of 1-2hrs. I would be happy to share the lesson with others as I cannot pay high fees....or, I would be prepared to help in exchange in learning English, Italian or French.

I have been casually trying to learn Turkish for a few months, but not getting very far. I have used some online and cd-rom tools like Rosetta Stone, but am not sure it is the best way for me to learn. How many times am I going to use the phrase 'the boy is wearing two hats' - I'd much prefer to learn to say 'did you have a nice weekend?'
