I'm leaving to be an exchange student in Paris for 6 months, and I need to learn as much of the language as possible before I leave.
I've had previous instruction in French, and I can converse in simple sentences in present, past (passe compose and imparfait), and future (futur simple and futur proche). Although I've had some lessons I need a refresher course as well as more in-depth use of the kind of vocabulary I will need when I'm living alone in a city. I still consider myself to be very much a beginner.
I need improvement in my conversationa l skills, as well as a lot of practice in speaking confidently.
I'm willing to spend a good deal of time on my studies before August, hopefully about 3-5 hours a week.
I'm looking for very practical lessons from my French teacher, who will be strict with my usage and my pronunciation . I'd still prefer someone who'll keep it light and fun, but I need to learn a lot so focus on covering as much material as possible would be great.

I would like to learn French for career advancement, and possible employment in Canada. I believe French is similar to Spanish. I am somewhat proficient in Spanish because I had twelve units of the said language when I was in College. To date I have no background in French, and I am curious with regard to its similarities to Spanish. Hence I would like to learnm as a beginner, the French language under appropriate tutelage either under a personal approach or through electronic means.
