I believe I am intermediate. I watch alot of anime, and was previously teaching myself Japanese. So I know alot of words, I have good pronunciation skills. Also I was teaching myself the hiragana, and kanatana, but I need to use them more so I can remember them. I need to learn how to form sentences correctly, and more vocabulary as well. I want to learn Japanese fluently writing and speaking.
I want to learn this foreign language because I am in love with the culture in general. I hope to one day live in Japan for at least 2 years. Also it would be great to be able to speak two languages and be excellent to get into more Japanese Interior Design, since I am an Interior Designer.
I am willing to study three or two nights a week, also on saturdays mornings or evenings.
I am looking for a teacher who is very knowledgable of the culture and the language. Not a textbook prodigy but also can teach me the slang or ways japanese is spoken in the country. What I mean about that is sometimes the way an text book says is a correct phrase might not be the exact way it is spoken in the country. There may be shorter ways. For example: Ohayo Gozaimasu can also be spoken in short as just ohayo. In the end I just want a good teacher who can help me increase my of the knowledge language and be able to help me learn it with ease and efficiency.

I am a beginner at the Japanese language. I am a typical 'White Otaku'. For years I have been cultivating an interest in Japanese culture that, of course, began with anime. I have moved on to other facets of the Japanese culture such as music, movies, tv drama, etc. I'm at the point know where I want to understand more of one of the most interesting cultures in the world. In order to do so I wish to gain fluency in the Japanese language. And not just Japanese, but liveable Japanese. I may want to spend a few years there later in life, and I would need a more functional knowledge of the language. And possibly some entry-level business Japanese studies near the end.
I would prefer my teacher to be of Japanese descent, but race isn't the most important factor. The sensei must be fun, kind, and intelligent. The further I move into the language, the more I am going to be relying on the sensei for stimulation. Like i'll try having political discussions in Japanese, or possibly play a game(I LOVE Igo) while attempting to use correct japanese terms, and posture/style /gestures. I'm not ONLY interested in fluency, I would also like to learn things about the Japanese FROM the Japanese. How to sit in situations, the proper way to greet someone in all situations. The correct bow posture for all situations. As well as being told cultural things such as how to conduct yourself at a traditional tea-ceremony, Sakura Matsuri, wedding, funeral, etc, etc, etc.
Beyon d that I would also like to learn(eventua lly...) composition and writtern language. Kanji, Hiragana, Katakana. Romaji conversions, etc.
I have a full-time job, but I can dedicate as much time as possible to my lessons and my sensei. I can work my schedule around my lessons.

I currently work as a Japanese-Engl ish translator/in terpreter here in the Bay Area, and am looking for an experienced Japanese language instructor to help me with improving my written Japanese language skills. If you can help me, please get in touch!! Ideally, I'd like to meet once a week with an experienced instructor to work on compositions, correct them, and learn new things.
Hi ndi Teachers:
I have had some experience studying Hindi as well, having journeyed throughout India three times---the last time I traveled there, I spent six months in an intensive Hindi language instruction programme, and managed to attain an elementary level of conversationa l Hindi. I can also read and write a little. I'd like to work with an experienced Hindi teacher to review what I've learned so far and maybe go a bit further. Ideally, I'd like to meet once a week.
Arab ic Teachers:
I've recently started teaching myself Arabic at home just for the fun of it---I've spent the last couple of years reading up on the Middle East, and while I have learned a lot this way, in my experience studying the politics, economics, or culture of any given country or society, one eventually needs to learn the language of the people one is studying if one ever hopes to learn anything. I'm fascinated with Arabic, and hope that I can find an experienced teacher to take me through the basics of reading, writing, and conversation. Ideally, I'd like to meet once a week.
