I am at a beginner level in Hindi. I am fluent in Tamil (south Indian language) but only know a few random words in Hindi from Bollywood films. I wish to learn Hindi because my fiancee is North Indian and his family doesnt speak English or Tamil, so I need to be able to converse with them. I would like to be strong in everyday conversation and basic writing. I am willing to dedicate about 20 hours a week to learning Hindi. I am looking for a private teacher who emphasizes conversation, role playing, games, and writing.

Hello,
In recent years, I've grown a real heart for the people of India. In my current job in IT, I found myself working with mostly Indian people and some have become friends. I'd love to be able to connect with them more when they are speaking Hindi around me whether it's at work or outside of work. I enjoy their culture, food, music and of course movies, and have tried to pick up a few things here and there. I've always had an interest in languages and would love to start learning some Hindi in a more structured environment, instead of trying to pick it up in bits and pieces. It's so hard to learn when you don't even understand sentence structure of the new language or the basics of grammar. (As it is very different from the romance languages.) I am at the WAY beginning and am coming in with basically only a knowledge that would help me order off the menu at Mayuri. I'm hoping to find a local teacher who is female, around age 30-45, kind-hearted and interesting. I'd like to start off with one night a week and then go from there. Thank you for your consideration .
