I am a PhD student and I am completing some research on Afghanistan and Pakistan. I am due to start my field research in September.
I have completed some beginners Pashto (twenty sessions). I also speak and read Urdu. I would like to improve my conversationa l and listening skills
I was hoping to receive some intensive classes that I could attend until September, or that you would be able to point me in the direction of private Pashto tutors that I may be able to contact for Pashto classes.

Im learning because Ive always wanted to be bilingual and pashto seemed like a really interesting language and a challenge! Also love the script and is a poetic lang. Im just a beginner really, used rosetta stone and dictionaries but need to speak in person with someone to improve. Teacher would have to be relatively patient as Im not the sharpest knife in the box. Ive got a lot of free time and Im flexible so willing to dedicate as lots of time to this.

CAREER AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT. I HAVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF ARABIC AND VERY SIMPLE KNOWLEDGE OF PASTHU. I am a beginner and wish to learn Pashto because I believe it is an important emerging language. I have a great interest in linguistics already, having studied Spanish and French at school and I believe that knowledge of one of the main Afghan languages will help me in my career. I am a complete beginner and therefore will need help in all areas. If possible, I wish to focus on conversation and hope to be able to understand as much as possible so as to facilitate better learning through talking.
Ideally I'd like to be able to complete 4 hrs of lessons per week, split into two sessions/week on any days really. maybe this can be discussed. I'm not too picky in the qualities of my teacher although patience and consistency would be nice!
