Description |
The reason why I want to learn to speak Polish is because my wife, as well as my in-laws are fluent in Polish. Knowing that we will raise our children to speak both languages, I would like to get the head start and begin learning the Polish language. It is something that I want my wife to hold onto for the rest of her life.
I would like to start from the beginning and work all the way to being able to converse with people. At this time I only know basic words.
I would be able to dedicate at least 1x per week.

Description |
Beginner. I would like to learn Polish as a third language for two reasons; my work can relocate me to different locations, currently New York is my second relocation in less than 2 years and we have a Plant in Poland. Also, I'm dating a polish guy and it is frustrating to assist family reunions around polish speaking people, when I only know 5 or 6 words in polish. I would like to be a ble to interact in any conversation held around me. I would like to take classes twice a week, to learn as quick as possible.

Description |
I am technically a heritage speaker of Polish, but due to many factors, namely my stubbornness in refusing to speak it with my mom as a child that continued into adulthood, and my pursuit of fluency in French in college, it has become quite difficult for me to express myself in Polish. I can understand it and read it, but as far as speaking and writing go I could use some help, mostly involving grammar and fluidity in conversation. I would like to learn it in order to pursue Polish (and thus, European) citizenship, which I anticipate and from what I have seen already, will be a bureaucratic feat which I would like to be able to negotiate linguisticall y by myself. I am confident that with the right teacher this shouldn't be a problem. I am looking to take about 2-3 hours a week in in-person lessons, and I love homework!

Description |
Polish has always been spoken in my household, but since I have gone to college and graduated, I have noticed that my Polish proficiency has diminished. I can still completely understand when I am spoken to, but have lost confidence in responding, since I've noticed my loss in pronunciation . I never received formal training in reading and writing, and I feel as though it's time that I start. I travel to Poland frequently each year to spend time with my family that still lives there, and I would really like to participate in conversations as much as I used to when I was a little girl.
In college I always wanted to join classes, but my complicated proficiency never allowed me to. The most important for me is to find a teacher who can tailor lessons for me.

Proficiency level: Intermediate perhaps I learned to speak Polish over 40 years ago as a professional musician traveling with the 'Mazowsze' for about 8 weeks in the USA. I am amazed that I can still speak it, and I want to keep learning it. I love the language. I want improvement in conversation, especially since I have nobody to speak with. I want to dedicate everyday to the Polish language. Qu alities in my teacher? A teacher who loves to teach her language and is very kind. Ja umiem mowic po polsku. Bylam w Polce dwa razy. Ostatny raz, w roku 1965. Mam 70 lat i jestem 'professional musician.' ( I can say it in Polish, ale zapominalam jak to napisac.)
