I have been learning Korean for the past year in the Korean Cultural Center. I am in the advanced level but I don't think I am actually learning much. I can't even carryout a conversation. I think the program is not well designed for non-heritage speakers and I want to take private lessons to really practice conservation, grammer and reading. I am learning Korean just for fun. I have learned a few other languages but nothing really to the point I can speak fluently. I want to stick with one language and learn until I can speak fluently. My goal is to take the Korean proficency exam and at least pass the basic beginner level for now. I am looking for a teacher who is experienced in teaching non-heritage speakers and is a native speaker. The teacher should practice conversation with me and prepare lessons with a curriculum that will help me reach my goal.

I would be a beginner. I have not had any experience. I speak French with some proficiency. The reason for my interest is that two new members of our family are of Middle Eastern origin, and I would like to learn to speak to them in their native language. I know very basic phrases in Arabic. I need to obtain Arabic basic proficiency very quickly and am ready to learn. I would also like to eventually become fluent in Arabic thus continuing my language studies for years to come. Standard Arabic is necessary but Quranic Arabic is also an interest. I would be willing to dedicate as much time as I can afford financially over the next 6 months and then as needed to improve my proficiency thereafter.
