I want to learn Polish because I'm planning to move to Poland in about two years, when I finish my College degree. I am a total beginner, though I have looked into a few 'teach yoursrlf' media before and I feel somewhat familiar with the general sounds of the language. I'm interested in learning Polish throguh-and-t hrough; conversation, grammar, etc. I have a busy schedule busy schedule but I can spare a couple of hours a day to learn Polish. Well, I want to learn Thai because my boyfriend is Thai. Although, he is fluent in English. I want to be able to share with him something that is obviously close to his heart. He is very proud to be Thai. I will also be going to Thailand with him to visit his family at the end of the year. I would really like for him not to have to play translator the whole time. Even though, his parents are fluent in English as well, I'd like to be able to communicate with the rest of his family.
I have learned basic phrases and pronunciation s. But I am no further than a beginner level at most. I definitely need help with pronunciation s. My vocabulary is weak, grammar I am starting to get the hang of, but I can't hold a conversation or follow one for that matter. My goal is to hold a conversation as well as be able to communicate on my own when I go to Thailand. As of now, I plan to be returning to Thailand with him once a year indefinitely. So it is important to me to learn to speak Thai....fluen tly, eventually.
I would like to study once a week. And I am looking for a teacher who has patience, because I am very serious about learning. This isn't JUST for the fun of it. I think I am pretty felxible for the most part with my schedule. I hope my teacher would be too.
