Well, I want to learn Thai because my boyfriend is Thai. Although, he is fluent in English. I want to be able to share with him something that is obviously close to his heart. He is very proud to be Thai. I will also be going to Thailand with him to visit his family at the end of the year. I would really like for him not to have to play translator the whole time. Even though, his parents are fluent in English as well, I'd like to be able to communicate with the rest of his family.
I have learned basic phrases and pronunciation s. But I am no further than a beginner level at most. I definitely need help with pronunciation s. My vocabulary is weak, grammar I am starting to get the hang of, but I can't hold a conversation or follow one for that matter. My goal is to hold a conversation as well as be able to communicate on my own when I go to Thailand. As of now, I plan to be returning to Thailand with him once a year indefinitely. So it is important to me to learn to speak Thai....fluen tly, eventually.
I would like to study once a week. And I am looking for a teacher who has patience, because I am very serious about learning. This isn't JUST for the fun of it. I think I am pretty felxible for the most part with my schedule. I hope my teacher would be too.

My partner, in-laws, relatives and friends speak the vietnamese language, learning vietnamese will help me to communicate with them. It will also give me a better understanding of their culture and way of thinking. I love vietnamese dramas and want to learn their language in order to gain a better understanding of it. I recently just converted to buddhism and I am having trouble finding english sessions, I want to learn vietnamese to be able to attend vietnamese sessions. I just like the sound of asian languages when spoken. I speak english and spanish but two languages are not enough :-).Learning a foreign language takes time and dedication and I have it. I am beginner.

I wish twice weekly lessons to learn conversationa l Tagalog over the phone, for two sessions per week of one hour duration.
I wish the lesson to be held over the phone. the tutor need not worry about phone charges-I will call the tutor at the start of the lessons.
I would like standardized study materials- either I would purchase a textbook which the tutor owns, or the tutor will email me study material, or point me to a website which contains the material.
I am best available at my lunch period (NY 11:00 to 2:00) during the weekday.
I am looking to learn casual conversation, and to have fun learning.
I am happy to adjust my schedule to meet the needs of the tutor, if I can.
