Hi there, I am interested in fast tracking my learning in biblical Hebrew. My goal is to approximate the first year of university hebrew by the end of 2011(!) I have been attending a beginners course in St Kilda on thursdays for a couple of weeks now, but I would like to speed things up so that I am ready to commence a PHD next year. I wish to learn Farsi as I am married to a native Persian and we have a child together - I would like to be able to speak to my family in Persian. I currently have about 50 Persian words, I am keen to be able to converse freely in the language, writing it is not a priority but if that makes learning the language easier, then I am happy to learn that also. I am able to attend one class every one to two weeks and I am able to practice at home with Persian-speak ing people. 1-3 hours per week is the most likely amount of time I can dedicate to practice outside class. I am seeking a teacher who is patient and has the ability to teach farsi as it would be spoken commonly.
