I a beginner. I am interested in basic conversationa l hindi so that I can ask directions and understand the answers, order food, and interact with ordinary Indians without English skills. I am not interested in learning complex tenses, grammar, or vocabulary that nobody really uses. If there is an English word that's commonly used, I don't want to memorize the Hindi word. I would like a very practically and conversationa lly oriented teacher.

I'll like to start in a beginners stage. I'm very interested in Hindi because I'm planning to marry an Indian man and visit his family in India. I want to surprise everybody and feel more close to this beautiful culture. I'm more interested to learn conversationa l skills, however grammar and reading abilities can be included. I can dedicate from 1 hr to 2 hrs three times a week to learn Hindi. I would like to have a teacher that can be pacient and with great teaching skills, that can include Hindi's culture into teaching.

I am from the US and very interested in learning the Hindi language. I have travelled to India several times and plan to return later this year. I believe it would be both helpful and make for a more interesting visit if I were to be able to converse in basic Hindi. I have little or no knowledge of the language at this point but do have some study materials at my disposal. I work for an airline and have a rather unpredictable work schedule, so it would probably be best for me to find a private tutor who would have some flexibility as far as scheduling classes.
