Hello,
I am a complete beginner in Hebrew, but I have taken 2 years of modern standard Arabic. I am interested in learning Hebrew because I am writing an undergraduate honors thesis comparing different Middle Eastern literatures and I would like to know as much Hebrew as possible to be able to read some of the literature without translation. I am also hopefully going to Israel in August in order to complete an intensive Hebrew program in Tel Aviv. I am willing to devote several hours every day to Hebrew. I am looking for a teacher who will be willing to work very intensely with me.

I know a few words but I am really a complete beginner. I want to learn conversationa l hebrew. I want to learn the language just beacause I have always wanted to learn it and I am hoping that I can use it when I return to Israel. I can dedicate about an hour a day to learning tha language. I am a pre-med student at UIC and I want to volunteer with the Magen David Adom summer program in Israel, hopefully in two years. However, I do not speak Hebrew or know any. Therefore, I would like to have private one-on-one sessions, at least once a week, with either a native Hebrew speaker or someone who has had intensive training since youth. I am a native English speaker who also speaks Polish. I am available anytime after 4pm Mon-Thur & Sun.
