To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to learn how to speak, write and read the polish language. My wife is from Poland and polish is her native language. She speaks, writes amd reads english fluently (she went to school in the U.S.). However, I think it would be best for me to learn from an individual who has been formally trained to teach a foreign language. On the plus side, my wife will be able to assist me during the week. It is difficult to carry a lengthy conversation with her parents since they do not speak english very well. I would like to overcome this challenge by learning their native tongue.
My proficiency level is beginner.
The area I would like to concentrate on is conversation. However, I plan on learning all areas.
Initially , I think I would like to dedicate ninety (90) minutes per week.
Some of the qualities in a teacher I am looking for are: thorough, detail oriented, clear expectations, understanding of the upcoming challenges when one is in the process of learning a new language, sense of humor.

I am interested in learning Polish, because I would like to be able to speak Polish to my future parents in law.
I am a beginner level, and I would like to learn about grammar and mostly conversation in polish language.
I will be able to have spare time to learning polish outside my working hours, as I am working 9-6, 5 days a week.

I work at a local warming center which caters to the needs of the homeless community in Logan Square. Recently, I have noticed that there are many Polish individuals who are in the need of care. Learning Polish would enable me to communicate with these individuals more effectively, thereby enabling me to direct them to the services that they are in need of.
