I am an advanced beginner in learning Mandarin and am looking for fairly intensive language instruction over the next month or two (mid March through early May 2006) in preparation for moving to Shanghai to work there.
My interest is in developing some ease and proficiency is speaking and am interested in a tutor who can teach me correct pronunciation and can get me to 'do the talking.'

I am capable of holding a few short and simple conversations . What I need is lots of vocabulary and sentence structures. I also very much want to learn to read and write Chinese characters. I can recognize maybe 100 basic characters, but I have never practiced writing so I can't write them very well, if at all. I'm also open to the idea of learning Cantonese someday, but I want to focus on retaining my current knowledge of Mandarin and increasing it. I would prefer one-on-one tutoring as I learn at my own pace. I usually ask a lot of questions based on what I want to know how to say, so I hope that any time-based curriculum is loose and open. I currently do not have a set schedule, so I would like to schedule a common time to meet with a teacher to see if we are right for each other. I am very eager to hear from native speaking teachers of Mandarin living in Philadelphia.

My proficiency level is beginner I never spoke or even heard Arabic spoken only on the television. The reason I am interested in learning Arabic I want to become a traslator and I am really learning about the middle east and the whole culture so I really would like to be able to speak and write Arabic.
