I work with a lot of people that speak only Mandarin Chinese and I have picked up a few basic expressions; however, I am determined to become fluent. I would like to spend a few hours a week with a teacher and I can dedicate a few hours on my own each week. Hello,
I am studying Persian Farsi and am at a beginner level. I went through an immersion program 6 years ago and enjoyed the language. Unfortunately I didnt keep up with what I learned with Farsi and am now interested in hiring a private tutor living in the Chicago, Illinois area to begin tutoring me. I am interested in studying so that I can get to an advanced level. This would mean that I am interested in finding a tutor that I can study with every day or close to that. I am taking this seriously and would like to speak with someone who would be interested in teaching me. I am looking for a teacher who is serious, be willing to meet close to everyday, someone who possibly has a teaching background and someone who will challage me. I took an intensive Kiswahili course while studying abroad in Kenya. This was almost two years ago. Although I have had experience, I assume my proficiency level is beginner.
I hope to teach in Kenya beginning in late 2006.
Conv ersation
I am a teacher, so I am available during the summer months, and am flexible about the region of the US in which I study. I hope to spend a significant amount of that time learning Kiswahili.
I am hopeful that my lessons will predominately be focused on conversation and will help me to be comfortable communicating , especially with children. I hope to be challeneged, as I learned quite a bit in such a short time when I was in Kenya. As I study, I hope to be as fully emmersed in the language as possible.
