I am a beginner. I'm of Polish decent and wish to learn the language for a trip next year. I'm the first generation in my family not to speak Polish and wish to change this. The time I'd perfer to dedicate is 2 nights a week, with some homework assignments for a Sunday. Qualities I desire in a teacher are patients, respectfulnes s, and willingness to explain. I am hvae no experience with Latin, although I speak fluent spanish and have some basic reading/speak ing knowledge of italian; since both are derivitives of Latin, I don't expect my learning curve to be too steep.
I have always been drawn to the classics, and to learn Latin would allow me to read some literature in its original text. I also want the challenge of learning such a historical and beautiful language.
I am willing to dedicate 2-3 lessons a week with a teacher; or one long one.
I looking for a challenging teacher, who also has an affinity to roman and greek classics (I plan on learning greek at some point as well).
