I was born and raised in the US. I can read and write a little and would like to learn more. I went to Vietnamese school for about a year or so in the past. I am planning to move to Vietnam early 2014 and would thus like to start learning the language beforehand. I am a beginner and have started self-learning about a month ago (February 2013) but only have limited time due to work. I would prefer about 2-3 hours per week either on evenings during the week or on weekends.

I work for a law firm with mainly Vietnames clients. I am Chinese, but born and raised in Houston, Texas. I can understand Vietnames if spoken slowly and very basic words. I can respond a little but am shy to say the wrong thing. I don't want any elders to think that I am disreprecting them in any way so I normally tell them I can only respond in English and would like for that to change that I can communicate with them back in their language.
