Hello my name is Maria and I come from Finland. I would like to learn Amharic because my mother is originally from there. I can say I know some basics like numbers and I alphabets etc. I would like to learn to speak that language (conversation ) and make my vocabulary much more bigger and also I would like to learn the grammar, so basically what I want is just to learn how to speak Amharic. I will come to the US in October- November time, so I would hope that you could give some lessons then.I was thinking of maybe 4hours a per week and maybe all together 3 weeks. Qualities that I hope from the teacher is a lot of patience and a warm smile to keep be going and also that my teacher would really help be learn the language.

I am a beginner speaker of Amharic. I only know some numbers and some greeting words. I want to learn the language because it is my paternal language and I will be going to Ethiopia very soon. I believe I need to improve on all aspects especially conversationa l learning. I would like to dedicate two weeks straight to amharic lessons in Addis Ababa starting the end of april. I would like my teacher to be able to help me by having good enough english so that we can communicate and if I have questions he/she will able to answer them and good grammar skills so that I learn the proper way of speaking amharic.
