My significant other and his whole family fluently converse in Farsi. I have picked up some words and phrases over the years, but I do not know enough to make up sentences or fully understand/ho ld a conversation. I am travelling overseas to meet more of his family and wanted a crash course, if possible, in conversationa l Farsi. I'm interested in the basic nouns, verbs, conjugations, grammar etc. I have learned other languages through formal classes so I believe I would be a quick learner.

I just want to learn Hindi because many of my friends are Indian at university. I have studied Urdu now for about 1.5 years although I only have a basic level of understanding . I now want to focus on Hindi because there are more resources available for Hindi and I believe that I can always master Urdu at another time. I would like to study with a tutor once a week, I also have a friend that helps me at school (so outside help once a week is very reasonable to learn effectively). I would like to learn the script fast, as I find it to be confusing when letters are combined. I don't want the written language to become a barrier, but I want to continue at a regular pace, learning Hindi grammar and vocabulary as I master the script. I also have always wanted to visit India, one of my friends may go with me next summer after graduation (Im a senior finishing my BS in biochemistry & applied mathematics).

I want to learn my foreign language because it is required for my career. I would need to start as a beginner. I would like to dedicate around 2 or 3 hours to my language lessons. I wan a teacher to be able to teach me well, someone that makes easy to understand.
