Hi, My name is Jacob and i was born and raised in Australia, however i have fallen in love with a South African girl, and over time grown strong, who speaks both Afrikaans and good English. Few weeks ago i decided to propose to her and im wanting to secretly learn Afrikaans for her as a gift, so when i go back to South Africa where her family is, i can communicate with them and understand them better.
I currently live on the Gold Coast and am looking for a friendly, patient (lol) tutor who will help me understand and pronounce words, as my goal would be to learn if fluently.

I am a begginer of afrikaans (I only know about 60 - 80 words I understand, but do not read or write many words in Afrikaans as of yet).
I am 35 years old, I get a monthly income left by my father's estate of just $652 USD, but also work part time.
I am saving money to go to Cape Town, SA, and Joburg, SA ( where my family descended from). I am also considring moving to Cape Town when I become better at Afrikaans, and plan to find a job with an ambulance service (I have training and 8 years experience with rescue / fireman / ambulance work).
I would like vey much to learn Afrikaans, as I am not getting much from the CD's that I have tried.
Also, I need to know how much the class will cost, as I do have a family also.
I am looking for someone who will teach me as if I am a new student to Afrikaans, I would like to learn as much as I can, including Crammer, conersation, writing, and reading.
I can study as much as 4 to 6 hours a day. However, As I did mention, money is a concern as I have a limited income right now, it will grow as time passes.
