I have friends in Germany and visit often. I would like to have the confidence to travel around Germany, Austria and Switzerland without having to depend on others.
* Your proficiency level:
In my 3rd year (2010) learning German part time so I'd class myself as an advanced beginner.
* The areas in which you feel you need particular improvement:
Genders, grammar and above all, conversation!
* How much time you want to dedicate to your language lessons:
1 hour a week. I'm doing 2 German courses so an hour a week conversation would be great to supplement my studies.
* What qualities you are looking for in your lessons or in your teacher:

Hello My name is Sarah Hawkes, I currently posses an NCEA Level 2 (equivalent to GCSE)in Japanese, I am looking to further this to A level. I am also Very keen to learn Mandarin chinese as i have a keen interest in the eastern languages and culture. I am a very good student and even got a scholarship and lived in japan for a short while to help with my japanese study. I am hoping for a teacher that doesn't live to far from me but i am not botherd at driving.

I'm a beginner. My mum is Hungarian (although she hasn't spoken it for many years and isn't comfortable teaching it) and I would like to move there next summer. I have family in Budapest and have visited a few times and would like to communicate with them as they don't speak English.
I would like to be able to hold a conversation and make basic needs known by next summer.

I have a house in Portugal where I spend some time during the year. I hope to spend more time in the future.
I have had a few lessons, but, would consider myself to be a beginner.I would ideally like to work on conversation, I would think that this will also include grammar.
I am not sure, certainly one hour per week, perhaps two.
I am looking for enthusiasm, patience, good teaching skills, from the teacher.
I hope the lessons would be enjoyable as well as producing a successful result.

I want to learn romanian as I been to the country a few times and I would like to communcate with the people there. I have got 8 GCSE's and a diploma in child care. I would like to spend a few hours a week to help learn the language. The teacher needsto be patient as I find it hard to learn languages.
