Hello:
I am very interested in beginning to study Sanskrit.
I am a Psychologist and already speak multiple languages (Spanish, Italian, Mandarin). I study yoga (Ashtanga) and am interested in deepening my practice including learning more about the underlying language,hist ory,and philosophy.
I would like to study with somebody a couple of times each week (I am willing to do additional work on my own). I am seeking an engaging teacher who can provide a solid foundation.

I am somewhere between a beginner and an intermediate Spanish student. I know all the basic grammar and can write decently. I struggle in vocabulary, pronunciation , and speaking. I have a beginner-inte rmediate level of Quechua and am interested in continuing. I have been doing field work on medicinal plants, agriculture, and weaving in Peru (Lamas, San Martin) with many Quechua speakers and need to become more proficient with the language. I speak Spanish. Ideally I would like to study with someone who speaks the dialect from Lamas, San Martin, but I am open to learning Cuzco Quechua as well. I would like to meet twice a week to do some intensive language study.

I would say I am an intermediate level Portuguese learner. I took one semester of Portuguese 5 years ago but just got back from a two week stay in Salvador where I took classes every day. I have also studied Spanish for many years . I'm learning because I am a comparative literature PhD student and my project involves a Brazilian poet. I would like to really increase my conversationa l skills. I am already able to read newspapers, essays and some literature without the use of a dictionary, but I still produce the language at a basic level. I would like a teacher who will push me to speak and will help me gain conversationa l skills that would eventually enable me to conduct interviews with Portuguese speakers.
