I have some exposure to Quechua / Quichua but not much. I am trying to make contacts in the Denver/Boulde r area for various linguistics projects. I would like to work on all speaking, listening, reading and writing. For this fall, I would like to meet Saturdays, in the morning.

I have a beginner-inte rmediate level of Quechua and am interested in continuing. I have been doing field work on medicinal plants, agriculture, and weaving in Peru (Lamas, San Martin) with many Quechua speakers and need to become more proficient with the language. I speak Spanish. Ideally I would like to study with someone who speaks the dialect from Lamas, San Martin, but I am open to learning Cuzco Quechua as well. I would like to meet twice a week to do some intensive language study.

I want to learn Quechua in anticipation of eventual travel to the Cusco region, but it is very difficult to find resources. I know a very few words, so I am a beginner.
I am willing to dedicate as much time as it takes to learn, and promise to do my best. My ideal teacher would be willing to help me understand the culture as well as the language.
