I am travelling to Russia in April and I have never learned even 1 Russian word. In looking at 'Russian phrase books' I'm afraid it isn't intuitive for me. I need to hear it and practice it. I think basic basic words, sounds, and similar things are what I need first. I would like a teacher who's laid back, relaxed and who likes to have a bit of fun teaching because - as an ESL teacher myself - I work best in a relaxed setting. I'm willing to put in an hour or two a week depending on schedules and location of the tutoring.

I want to travel to Brazil and thus would like to learn Portuguese.
I currently do not speak any Portuguese at all but I can more or less read it as I speak Spanish. I guess the most important to start would be to learn pronounciatio n and conversation skills.
