Good day. My name is Kim Bartlett. I am a 34 year-old, third-year law student at OCU in Oklahoma City, OK, USA. I will be traveling to South Africa in January of 2009. My expected graduation date is May, 2009. I hope to make some contacts during my travels in January to secure a position with a human rights law firm in South Africa upon graduation.
I have no formal second language training. I studied Spanish for a short time as a very young child, and took an internet Russian course to complete my language requirements for high school. I have no knowledge of the Afrikaans language, other than realizing it's importance in South Africa.
As a college student, I am not wealthy, but this is quite important to me to learn. I hope to be able to work out a payment schedule that is favorable to both of us.

i wrote my matric last year and unfortunately i failed afrikaans and as a result of it bieng a second language i failed the year. so this year (2008) i am rewriting afrikaans and i only have 5 months to learn as much as possible. i need help and i need it quickly. i'm not picky about who's prepare to teach me, i just need a good and fast teacher in afrikaans for the next 5 month. plz.

I studied Afrikaans in Cape Town when writing a thesis over the German settlers of Namibia. I would like to keep up the little of the language i learned. Video conferencing via iChat would be the most preferable route of learning!
