I am interested in learning Kiswhahili because I am planning a trip to Tanzania next spring in 2011. I will be working with some teachers and possibly parents in Arusha, Tanzania on a project and would like to feel comfortable communicating in Swahili.
I am a beginner in learning the language and would like to take lessons twice a week, perhaps more often depending on time, location and expense. I would like to learn Kiswahili from a native speaker and also someone that can teach me about the culture of Tanzania as well, if possible.

I am barely a beginner, altough I have spent a little time in Arabic and kiswahili speaking regions. I wish to learn for my own enjoyment. I hope to travel more in East Africa, possibly in North Africa. I would like to spend some time in an immersian program in the near future. I would hope to spend one or more classes per week with an instructor in my home area as a beginning. I would spend several hours per week studying and would hope to find opportunities to practice speaking with someone near my home as well. I need some structure in the form of assignments, I don't consider myself a organized person.
