Description |
Being born in Canada, my first language is English. However, being of an indian background, I am relatively well versed in speaking gujurati and have a fairly good understanding of such south asian dialects as hindi, although I cannot speak them. I am part punjabi and therefore constantly find myself at a disadvantage when having to communicate with family and friends. In addition, my future plans involve professional music for which adequate knowledge of the language for poetic use is essential. My understanding of punjabi is limited to a mere few words and i cannot speak it. I am not looking to learn how to write in punjabi, only to be able to carry out a fluent conversation in various scenarios. I am looking for a teacher who is not only comfortable with speaking punjabi, but who is also fluent in English as better communication with myself in English will facilitate and speed up the learning process. I would like to begin lessons as soon as possible, preferabely weekly 1 hour classes. Weekends would work best. I look forward to your response.

Description |
Proficiency level - beginner I need to learn Punjabi since my family speaks punjabi, I want to be able to better communicate with them. I need to focus more on conversationa l punjabi, however grammar is quite important too (sentence structure, vocabulary etc.) I will dedicate as long as it takes to learn the language, on average about 2-3 hours a week I need a teacher who will teach me the language right from the beginning preferably in single classes, who will test me on knowledge gained, and challenge me to learn more.

Description |
My name is Rakesh Tiwari. I am born and raised in Toronto and am from Punjabi descent. I want to learn Punjabi so that I can talk to people from my ethnicity and also to be able to talk to my family members in conversations without having to feel awkward because of just speaking English. I can't speak it really well but I do understand quite a bit. I feel I need a whole refresher course on Punjabi since I haven't really learned that much since I was a kid. I would like to take a couple of hours a week to learn so that it doesn't take that much time away from work and school. The qualities in a teacher that I am looking for is one that is patient, nice and is willing to allow me to make mistakes when making a conversation in Punjabi plus very flexible because my schedule is very hectic.

I am wanting to learn how to speak Punjabi because I am going to be getting married soon into a Punjabi family. I was born in Canada, my parents speak Gujarati, I speak it fluently as well. I speak a little of Hindi and very little Punjabi. I understand Hindi 80%, and I understand Punjabi 50-60%. I want to learn how to speak Punjabi enough to carry on a conversation.
