These lessons would be for my 5 year old son. He would be a beginner. My son is eurasian and I feel he would benefit culturally and perhaps in the future professionall y from learning this language. He could dedicate 3-5 hours a week, but I would be interested in knowing what the teacher recommends. We need a teacher who is patient and knows how to work with children.

I am a beginning Mandarin Student (1 month part time after work and 1/week class at a community college). Learning languages is a passion of mine but, unfortunately not a forseeable factor for career advancement in my field. Proper pronunciation is very important to me so I am looking for 1-2 hours of tutoring per week so I get off to a good start. Learning the characters is secondary to me now since I wish to become proficient orally before worrying about transitioning from Pinyin to formal script.
