I'm a beginner in Japanese and i'd like to study Japanese conversation. I live and work in Japan therefore i want to be able to communicate with my hosts. Proficiency Level: High 3kyu or low 2kyu. I speak Japanese about 6-8 hours/day, but my accuracy and vocabulary are quite poor. I can recognize about 1000 kanji and use a Japanese computer operating system and software exclusively, but my reading comprehension of extended text is poor due to a weak vocabulary and the various readings of kanji.
Why I'm studying Japanese: I live and work in Japan. My work is carried out in Japanese and I need to improve. I need improvement in all 4 skills, but my listening comprehension with subjects that I am familiar with is high.
Time to study/week: 2-4 hours of lessons, 10 hours of self-study. Until mid-April, I can commit more time if I'm presented with a good intensive program.
Qualities I'm looking for in a teacher: Professional, current in methods of instruction, individualize d lessons that begin with an assessment of my current skill, and good materials (computer-bas ed materials is a plus). I'm looking for an excellent instructor and expect the fee to reflect that quality.
Online interaction is OK if it is done effectively.
