This past December my family and I went on vacation to Spain. After having lived in Spain and Mexico for quite a while and still not being able to have a conversation during this past vacation, I felt like I wasted a lot of my life. While we were on a cruise that departed from Barcelona, we visited many places like Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt--places that I had always dreamed of seeing--but none of those places had the at-home feeling of Spain. My mother had lived in Barcelona many years back but it was my first visit, and even in an unknown city, the mere fact that it was in Spain gave me the feeling like that of being at home in the States. For some reason Spain is just really comfortable, and I would like to be able to live there one day and be able to speak Spanish.
Even though I said I felt like I wasted some of my life, I was actually surprised at how much Spanish has remained with me. My vocabulary is quite good--not sure exactly how many words, but I am having no problem understanding a large portion of this Spanish novel. Probably I am somewhere in the intermediate range.
But in terms of speaking I do not have much experience. Speaking is the number one area in which I would like to improve. If someone could somehow get me speaking and continue to motivate me to speak then that person would be the perfect teacher.
My dream teacher and I would spend several hours a week speaking about everything including current events, travel, movies and books, and even religion and politics if those topics are not too personal. The more time spent purely talking the better. One of my fears, though, is feeling bad because I feel that my teacher wants to move along while I am trying hard to say what I want in Spanish. Above all else I need a teacher who is patient and who forces me to talk only in Spanish, at least as much as is possible.
I also hope to learn other Romance languages, like Italian and French.

I'd like to learn conversationa l Cantonese to speak with my fiance's family. They're from Hong Kong and this is their primary language. I've never studied Cantonese before, but I have learned to speak basic Japanese and Spanish, so I know what to expect.
Learning in person is preferable. However, email and telephone are acceptable correspondent s mediums. My schedule is restricted with work. I'm available Wednesday evenings and weekends for in person meetings. Please contact me if this works for you.

I am Italian by heritage. My grandparents were fluent but never taught my parents. I would like to speak Italian for my own sake, not for a job or any other reason. I plan to visit Rome soon and would like to be able to converse with the Natives. I am looking for someone who is obviously fluent in Italian conversation as well as grammer, but also someone who has proper English grammer. My instructor should be patient and able to make teaching fun and enjoyable. Also, I prefer a non-smoker. I have no gender preference and would like at least 1-2 hours per week of lessons.
