Description |
I am a BEGINNING (as in absolutely no experience) Russian learner. I have taken a few years of French, a semester of Japanese and studied and worked abroad (Mexico) and majored in Spanish. I would like to spend a few hours a week learning Russian as I have a Russian kindergarten student in my class who is very limited in English. My husband and I are also planning to travel to St. Petersburg next fall and I would like to have some conversationa l Russian under my belt. I am looking for a Russian instructor who is willing to work with me to get some conversationa l phrases as well as some survival phrases for my class as well as for travel.

Description |
As a small child, I was took over seas to live with my father on the islands of Bali, and Irian jaya. There I lived for 5 years of my adolescent life. Ofcourse when I first moved, I was as fluent in English as a 5 year old would be, but I soon forgot my American roots as my Father married 2 natives and I began to speak fluent Indonesian. Till it became the only thing I could speak. I also was taught basic Arabic aswell by Haji's, since our family converted to Islam, but sadly now all I remember is how to pronounce parts of the alphabet. We then moved back to the states around 6 years ago. To Anacortes, Washington. Where I had to relearn my English completely needless to say here I am now fluent and placed in Advanced English. Although my English is great, I now have lost my 'native' tounge. I remember bits and parts of the Indonesian language, just not as well as I once did. I would like to retouch my roots to gain back what I once knew.
Why am I learning this language? I'm learning this language because since I was a young child many said I had a career in Languages. And I do beleive it myself. Where best to start then the 'first' language I remember. If I can, I am willing to do whatever I can to make this a career.
La nguages I am planning to learn (so far): -Indon esian -Malay
-Mandarin -J apanese -Kore an -French - Arabic -Greek -Latin
Th e only qualities I look for in an insturctor is the ability to have an actual conversation, without sounding to proper. That and the will to teach.

Description |
Japanese is the language that I always wanted to learn since I was little. But I never had the chance to, from goign to Chinese school to learning piano. And now I have time and I think I will enjoy it very much. I only know SOME words in Japanese, and I would take as much time as possible to learn all I need from this paticular language.
