My proficiency level is beginner. I've always wanted to learn cantonese for the purpose of talking to my family members and friends. To be capable of having a conversation. My areas of need would be both grammer and conversation. I would like dedicate as much time as possible to my lessons. I am looking for free help and friends in learning Cantonese, Manderin and Japanese. I have alot of free time as I work from home. I need help in learning to read and write pinyin and characters in all languages as well as speak. I know manderin pinyin and tone marks pretty good, some characters. I am focusing on learning complex characters along with the simple, as i find i need them. I badly need to learn grammar in all languages. I have an IME that lets me turn pinyin into both traditional and simplified characters. I am in need of a converter that changes characters into pinyin with tonal marks(this seems to be impossible)I have a cd that teaches stroke order, history and pronunciation of characters. It can be browsed by radical,# of strokes, pinyin and shows trad and simple characters at a click. It is written by a teacher at the Univercity of Calgary.(my home town) I learn best when shown, character, pinyin, then english.
I hope to find a teacher who is friendly and is interested in the same languages as me, i will help with english and french in needed. I am a happy sweet person who very much loves china.
