I recently went to Paris and fell in love with it. I now would like to travel to France and live there for a few months to half a year. However, I know very, very basic French (hello, goodbye, my name is...) and need lessons to learn more and how to converse/pron ounce words. I am looking for a teacher who is preferably from France and lives/teaches in the southern suburbs.

I have been to paris for a few days and picked up a few words, this is the limit of my knowledge of French. I would like to learn French in order to travel and work international ly. I would like to learn fairly intensively, perhaps 4 hours of lessons across two days a week.

I am an IB student, year 12, and require conversation and tutoring, urgently for this weekend and for the rest of the year. I also plan to continue French next year at Uni as part of an general arts degree. I have a very urgent need for help this weekend regarding an important French oral, subject is 'Paris Commune' by phone would be fine perhaps with internet, would be happy to have 3-4 hours help over weekend, and would be keen to have help this evening if possible. I have already discussed the content with my history tutor and need help with the French.

Hi
We are a family of 2 adults and 4 children who have recently spent 9 months in Europe, 6 months of which was spent living and studying french in Switzerland.
We want to continue our studies and develop our conversationa l skills. I would rate our ability as intermediate but I find it difficult to judge, I could read the french commentary on this web site reasonably easily if that gives you any indication of level.
In the first instance we are after a structured private lesson for an hour once a week for my wife and I. If this is successful then we would like to discuss a similar type lesson for the kids who range in age from 14 to 7.

I have been very interested in learning French for a while now. I started with tapes, DVDs & books. Its good but not as good as i thought i would be :op I still would like the traditional approach of learning a language.
What is the cost of learning the language and how long does it take to be proficient in it?
