I am a beginner. I am learning Spanish so that I will be more effective in my career as a loan officer and so I can communicate with my Spanish friends and co-workers. I would like to study conversationa l Spanish. I will dedicate as much time as needed( and can afford lol) so as to be functionally fluent. The qualities Im looking for in a teacher would be that he/she be certified, have brought someone from knowing nothing to fluency and enthusiastic about what they do.

Hi, I am looking for a tutor in Mandarin-Chin ese for business purposes. I am a beginner and have had no previous lessons. I don't speak or read any Chinese. I will be traveling to China, hopefully, next summer. Although I have friends there I have made on the internet, in some places I will be traveling completely along. I would like to have some basic abiity to deal with emergencies, verbally, and to read basic signs.
I would like to take private (one on one) lessons. Probably the most I can afford is once, every other week.
I am a retired college professor who is sucessful and still active professionall y in my field; but...I am MISERABLE at languages! I am going to need a teacher who is extremely patient. I will be slow; but I am determined.
Doesn't matter if my teacher is male or female, I guess, but if at all possible I would prefer male because I am a male and it's easier for me to match sounds with another male voice. But a female teacher is fine, too.
