Visit Thailand regularly and hope to retire there (Isaan) in a couple of years.
I am probably at an intermediate level. Can hold simple conversations with Thai friends and can read basic Thai (not long texts). All self-taught, however, through daily study of language books and occasional conversations with native speakers.
I would like to improve my Thai conversation skills by better understanding grammatical principles of the language. I am unable to do this with my Thai friends because their English is not good enough to provide the explanations I seek. And I need someone to correct my pronunciation (my tones!) as my Thai friends are often too polite to do so.
I work as a freelance management consultant so my calendar is unpredictable . My preference would be for a two-hour 1-on-1 session each week, but I probably cannot set aside a 'standard time'. So I would need a teacher with flexibility (and, of course, I can be flexible too).

Two years ago I had the opportunity to visit Thailand with a group of 13 other awesome American teens, and I absolutely fell in love with the language and the people. While I was in Thailand, I did a two week long host stay and I felt such a strong connection to my host family, but I couldn't really speak to them because of the language barrier which bummed me out, because no matter how much they tried to include me in their lives, I still felt like a bit of an outsider because we couldn't speak to each other.
So I started teaching myself Thai when I got back to America by listening to and singing Thai songs on my youtube. I recently wrote one in Thai which went viral in Thailand, and now I have thousands of people that want me to succeed in learning Thai, and I'm going to try as hard as I can for them, my host family, and myself :)
