Hello...I'm a Malaysian and I work in the Hotel Industry. I recently was working in Shanghai and will be going back there in 18 months. I want to take this opportunity to learn to speak Mandarin. I need to be able to understand and coverse fluently. I am a beginer and would need someone who is patient and understanding . I can dedicated at least 3 hours per week. Due to my work schedule, I would prefer a private lesson with fixed schedule.

I am a female. would like to learn Mandarin in order to communicate with my Mother's side of the family. I can understand basic Hokkien (which is a dialect of chinese spoken in Malaysia) which is very different from Mandarin. However, I have the ability to hear several tones in the same 'word' and understand them as separate meanings.
I am willing to dedicate 2 hours a week to learning (and several hours of practice / homework)
I would like to do a few trial lessons and then determine a longer-term commitment after a trial period of about 4 weeks. Sunday mornings 10am-Noon at my apartment at the South End of Halifax. (-:

I have lived in Taiwan for three years, where I studied at Jing Yi Da Xue for two. I then lived in Hong Kong for another two years and traveled to China often to continue practicing Chinese. I am interested in continuing to improve on the foundation that I have for both personal and professional reasons.
