I want/need to learn to speak Spanish fluently. I am interested in an instructor who will be as committed to teaching as I will be to learning the language. I want the instructor to be competent, approachable, enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge. **must have a sense of humor because learning another language at 51 will be stressful enough!
It is important that we both agree on how we will operate during this partnership upfront-Be on time-Be prepared- Communicate openly and honestly if there are any issues that are getting in the way of achieving the goal -- Learning the language....

My husband and I just moved to Puerto Rico, from Rhode Island. We are both beginners in Spanish and we need a lot of practice. We are going to be looking for jobs here and we definitely need to become more comfortable with the language before that happens.
I am hoping to be able to have lessons as often as possible. The more we speak it, the quicker we will learn. I like to learn through conversation and association. Memorization will only take us so far. I want someone that is patient but will also challenge me to put in the time and do the work to learn.

I am 55years old and my husband is 63. We have relocated to Puerto Rico in December 2010, and will settle in Dorado at the end of January 2011.My husband is a scientist, working for an American company, based in Puerto Rico. I am a qualified teacher and artist.As we plan on staying here permanently, speaking Spanish is of utmost importance for both of us.As I am not working at the moment, I can dedicate more time to lessons than my husband. Together, we would like to do +- 3 hours live lessons per week. We need a teacher who can empathize with older people trying to learn a new language. I have a very basic knowledge of Spanish grammar, with a limited vocabulary, but my husband has less. Please help!!!
