I am looking for classes or a teacher or a school that teaches the Laotian language in the New York city area. I spoke Lao while growing up but have not practiced as much as I would have liked. I am a beginner, and Iam intrested in learning this language for converstation al purposes and possibly to teach ESL in Loas. I have never tried my hand at the Lao language. I am willing to discuss what might be good amount of time to spend learning all I can.

I am intending to move to Vang Vieng, Laos in a few years and would like to build as much language skill as possible before I arrive. As it is a tonal language, I feel it is important to have access to a native/fluent speaker to attempt to learn acceptable pronunciation . Lao will be challenging for a westerner I'm sure, but any vocabulary, pronunciation , and grammar skill I can ingest before hand are bound to be benificial.
