I and my son is interested in learning Arabic and Spanish for career advancement. I am a beginner learner in Arabic and very little in Spanish. I need an overall learning of the language and hope to also an immersion of the culture as I learn. I can dedicate as much time as needed to learn. I have interest to learn Arabic, because I'm due to go to the army June 4, 2012. I really would like to engage in arabic within the next 6 months, therefore i could probably renew my contract that I'm able to speak arabic fluent. My ultimate goal is to major in linguistics and then teach English in Japan. If that isn't possible I would like to seek work as a freelance translator. If I had to describe my proficiency level it be with the word 'aka-chan' I know nothing but the basics. I need to improve in every area. I would be willing to put in as much time as needed to be fluent within the next 3 years. As far as an instructor goes...I want someone who is not boring and who really knows the language.
