For many years, I have been interested in the complexity and beauty of the Mandarin language. I wish to learn so that I will be able to study and vacation in China in the distant future. I have heard from many people that Mandarin is one of the hardest languages to learn, and I love the challenge. I hope that I will be able to have one-on-one studying with my tutor, so that I can grasp the language as well as possible. I am currently studying at the University of Ottawa- which makes for the perfect study enviornment.

I am applying for my daughter Marielle, 15, who will be attending highschool in Germany next year. Her mother is German. I speak German fairly well. I have a great interest in Russian history and culture. I plan to take time in one of the next few to do development/t eaching work in that area of the world and wish to have a good knowledge of the language.
I have been learning French in school, but have become fascinated by the Russian language. After learning some skeleton basics on my own I would like to formally learn Russian to get a better grasp on all aspects of the language.
Due to commitments, I can only dedicate 2-3 hours per week to formal lessons throughout the school year but would be able to increase that during the summer. Also looking for a teacher who does not charge a lot. As a university student I do not have a lot of extra money lying around and really hope that does not become too much of an issue.

Ive been studying German at carleton university for 2 semesters.
I learnt alot about grammar and rules, but im more interested in the conversationa l aspects. Although at this point idefinnitly need to go over all the basics once again.
A s for the Swahili, I just returned from a trip to tanzania, i love the language and am very much interested in learning more.
