I am learning French for a few reasons. I have a few friends that speak French and I also want to start to travel there quite often, as well as Canada, where I have many French speaking friends, and maybe even relocate their to study abroad after I get my Bachelor's degree that I am currently working on. I want to be fluent in French. I don't want to just make it by, but I am determined to learn the language and be completely fluent.

I have always, always wanted to learn how to speak French. Sadly, in middle school when I was finally able to take a foreign language, French was not available and so I took Spanish for 3 years. I also lived in Costa Rica for a year and I was quite good with my conversationa l Spanish, but as I have not used it for almost 4 years, I have forgotten even the most basic of words.
I do feel that I do have a grasp for what is required when learning another language and so I feel that it is time to attempt French. I have no experience with French and at some point in my life I would like to become fluent. I realize that this takes a long time and a lot of commitment and that is why I am checking on the cost and time commitment I need to put into learning.
I am definitely a true beginner and I really want to, some day, feel confident in speaking French.
