I am beginner to intermediate, but I have done some self study. I know some basic vocabulary, and conjugation of verbs (simple past, present, simple future, present progressive). I have learned the alphabet and how to adjoin the letters to make words. I can write with vowel accents, and can make out some words. I have a feel for the language since my husband, in-laws and friends speak around me.
I want to learn because I want to be able to communicate in farsi with my husband, and children (when we have them!!).
I need most improvement in conversation, making sentances, tenses, and vocabulary building.
I would like to do one or two hours a week with the tutor, and I have plenty of time for homework/self -study.
Qua lities I look for in a teacher... I would prefer a female teacher. Other than that, I get along with anyone and I love to learn.

Hello, i am intrested in learning Farsi. I know some phrases in Persian but i would like to be fluent in this language. I want to learn Farsi because i work with some Persian people and it would make it easier to communicate with them because the do not speak english very well. i am also in school for communication s and i think this and other languages would help me have an edge up in the communication world. I would be willing to dedicate as much time to this as possible. I would like to have a teacher who is dedicated to helping someone like me learn this language also some one who has patients and the time to put into this.

Very much a begginer.
Le arning Farsi because I want to travel in Iran and meet the people. I wish to spend three months taking language lessons 5 hours a day five days a week. I would prefer a teacher who is more mature as I'm 68 and interested in chatting on topics during lessons that would interest both of us.

I know some basic grammar (regular conjugation, some basic irregulars) and have a minimal phrasebook vocabulary ('How are you? Where is Bob?' etc) in Farsi, but I am very motivated to become conversationa l in it.
I work and socialize with a number of Persians. While
they'r e supportive of my learning Farsi, we really don't
have many opportunities to get together and actually _study_ the language. I'm fortunate in that I have access to native speakers, but I lack a formalized curriculum or
student/t eacher environment.
My goal is to become conversationa lly proficient in Farsi. I'm willing to dedicate a couple (4-5) hours a week to this, as well as study on my own time. I have a few books on it (a phrase book, Thackston's grammar book, a dictionary), but frankly could use some correction. I have no knowledge of Persian script- while this interests me, it's not a priority.
I'm looking for an instructor who can help me get organized and methodical in learning the language, who's motivated to teach, and who doesn't mind a lot of questions.
